Recently committed to Kentucky Christian, Watts continued his impressive grassroots season with another impressive performance where he played above the rim and threw down some impressive dunks in transition. After watching him with Martin County in the winter, I didn’t realize how athletic Watts was when he was in the open court. I also thought Watts made smart decisions in transition, using his body to shield off defenders and playing on balance when going up for layups. Watts turned defense to offense a few times and had some key plays in a buzzer-beating victory over Kentuckiana Hoops which was one of the best games I saw all weekend.

Watts is a transfer into Kentucky who arrived for his Senior season from West Virginia and is having a big season for Martin County. Averaging 26 points per game for the Cardinals, Gavin is an explosive athlete who can knock down shots or get to the rim. There have been rumblings that Watts may look at a post graduate year but he has a chance to be an NAIA level player next season, without the extra year.

has went crazy in the first half of the season having a game with 12 threes, averaging nearly 25ppg, entertaining crowds with breakaway dunks which in turn force a jump in his ranking. Watts started at 28 but has jumped quickly to a top twenty spot at 19. Watts has already received an offer before this season started from Kentucky Christian but is getting interest as high as mid major D1. If you haven’t seen him he’s nothing less than entertaining and could easily flip the script and play D2 football if he wished.

Watts is averaging an astounding 38 points and 10 rebounds per contest to date. An absurd stat line average considering he’s a 6’2″ guard. If you haven’t seen Watts play, you should. He’s super athletic, bouncy and has great skills on the court. Rarely matched with those attributes is a dead eye shooting range from deep that’s put up big time shooting numbers from three. Watts has posted 14 in a tough loss to A favorite Tug Valley, has posted box score numbers as follows: 39pts/10reb, 48 (12 3’s) 10reb, 27pts/11reb and a 13/12/10 triple double.

Watts had an absolute monster performance Saturday recording 48 points including 12 three pointers and adding 10 rebounds. Watts who holds an offer from KCU is an outstanding two sport athlete and will have his choice likely of which sport he wishes to play at the next level.

Watts is truly a hidden gem of WV. Tucked away down in Tolsia in Wayne County WV, Watts has torched nets and tortured opponents with shooting, steals, dunks, finishes at the rim, you name it. An equally effective WR in football, Watts could possibly be in line for a small college offer to play football to go along with his standing basketball offer from NAIA Kentucky Christian University. Nonetheless we are eager to track his progress in both sports and with two school seasons ahead, he’ll be part of some big individual moments.

Watts topped off his school season as being one of the state’s top scorers. He’s a super athletic 6’2″ multi-sport athlete and already has garnered a NAIA offer from Kentucky Christian for hoops. Nobody would be surprised if he didn’t get a football offer somewhere as well. Watts uses great lateral quickness and explosion to the hoop as well as elevate over defenders for jumpers. His off-season work coupled with an early offer make him a true stock rising junior.

is a big guard at a small school. However, it hasn’t stopped him from putting his basketball career in the fast lane. While somewhat unknown in the mountain state, Watts has been in a few events to get some scouts attention and get his name out there in recruiting circles. Watts is a very active and athletic guard who tries to pick up the slack wherever needed. He rebounds like a forward and does his best to create scoring opportunities for teammates. One of WV’s top scorers at just over 20/ppg last year, Watts will look to expand his game in the coming school season while maintaining his scoring average. Most impressive metric with Watts is he shoots high percentages from the field including 46% from 3. His size and efficiency should start turning heads soon.
