About Gavin

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I am a dual threat. I have a strong post/mid range game with the ability to stretch the floor and shoot from the outside. On defense - I understand my assignment. I am extremely coachable and able to adapt my roll in any offensive or defensive scheme. I am an excellent defender - both on ball and off ball. I understand everybody's position on the floor.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

Both on and off the court, I am a hard worker. I am grateful for the abilities and opportunities God has blessed me with and I take nothing for granted. I am persistent, resilient, determined and adaptable. I work hard for my goals and I am always striving to get better. I believe in working hard.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

Cypress Fellowship of Christian Athletes (school club) Neighborhood Church Youth Group

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I am a team player. I understand my role and I work hard to help my team achieve success. I believe in hard work on and off the court. I have a good work ethic.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

I was born with a metabolic disease that resulted in a coma as a toddler. My brain reset and I had to learn to walk and talk again. Despite medical challenges, I work hard and focus on my goals to achieve overall success. I have a positive outlook and never stop trying or giving my best in all I do.

What type of college are you looking for?

I'm looking for a positive environment to further my education while playing the sport I love - basketball. I'm looking for an environment that welcomes diversity.
