Expert Analysis
Robbie Hodin | Prep Hoops Scout
Deluties is a key offensive player for Middlesex and has a good amount of the offense run for him. Because of his versatility and ability to score from all three levels, as well as his ability to come off screens effectively, he’s a tough cover on the perimeter whether he has the ball or not. He can make shots from three, and he’s a lot stronger on drives to the rim than he looks given his slight build. I’m not sure what Deluties is doing for next season, but he should probably be able to find a college fit at the D3 level.

Deluties, a guard out of the Middlesex School in Massachusetts, makes his first appearance in the rankings at #214. Deluties has had to step up this winter, with Middlesex suffering some unfortunate injuries, and in doing so, has cemented his status in the rankings. Operating as more of a combo-guard, he shows the ability to initiate offense or to play as a scorer. He plays with good pace, makes solid decisions in ball screens, rarely turns it over, and has the ability to make contested shots in the mid-range. Beyond that, he’s turned himself into a high level shooter from behind the arc.

Deluties is a talented scorer who can light it up from all three levels. He has a nice looking three point shot, he does a good job attacking closeouts and elevating in the lane for middies, but he also takes contact well at the rim (despite his thin frame) and can finish against bigs. He’s in constant motion and always attacks immediately when he gets the rock, so I like the way he can play within an offensive system both with and without the ball. Deluties should find a D3 fit, and some added strength would really improve his ability to guard multiple positions on the defensive end, thus making him an even more valuable prospect.

Deluties is a versatile, athletic combo-guard who can shoot the ball from three and also run the offense as an on-ball creator. He has good instincts in the pick and roll and is very willing to find his teammates for open kickouts once his own scoring opportunities dry up. I would slot Deluties in at the D3 level where he should be able to find a fit somewhere. If he grows and becomes a 6-foot-5 wing, I could imagine high level D3.

Gavin is a shot maker. He has the ability to create his own shot, and can get his shot off in multiple ways. He has a quick release, and needs little space to shoot. He moves without the ball well, and rarely stands still when he is away from the ball. In the tournament, he made stops on defense, shot the ball well, and was a good decision maker. Gavin is only going into his sophomore year, so he has a lot of time to raise his stock.
