About Gavin

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I am a very skilled point guard who can hit open shots, get to the rim and finish when needed, break down the defense and find the best options for our offense, facilitate, take care of the ball, and play solid defense. I do my best to control the game and make winning plays for my team.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I have a very strong mentality as I have grown up learning to not let anything get in my head or stop me from doing what I love which is basketball. I am extremely perseverant, optimistic, kind, and a good person overall.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I am involved in a leadership club for my high school, a book club about leadership, a service club, and a club that is student led and helps the school with what they need.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

One of the biggest qualities I have obtained over time is leadership. Whenever I'm on the court or off the court I will communicate with others around me and do my best to make sure they are succeeding. Teamwork is also very important to me as I care about my teammates on and off of the court.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

Yes, I have had a loss of a family member and had a time of struggle mentally. I got help from family and friends and I eventually overcame these challenges and I also realized my love for basketball which helped cure my struggles and made me a better person all around.

What type of college are you looking for?

I am looking for a college with good academics and a positive community that I can fit in with. A college that is big with basketball and can help me achieve my goals.
