Prep, originally from Houston, plays a physical, high-motor style of defense that wears down opposing point guards and creates turnovers. On offense, he pushes the pace, moves the ball ahead to open teammates, and looks to score early in the shot clock. He stays vocal and often goes to different teammates during the game to keep everyone locked in on both ends. His communication stands out and keeps the team organized. In many ways, Gage plays like an extension of his coach on the floor.

is a prospect that I have been keeping up with for a while and got to watch him play at the Kingwood Classic this past weekend. In his game late Saturday against the Sticks Ballhawks he showed a lot of confidence in his performance scoring from all over the floor effectively. Whether it was a pull up off the dribble from the three point line or him getting into the lane Gage was extremely productive offensively. Defensively he did a good job of staying in front of opposing ball handlers and getting in passing lanes to steal the ball. I look forward to Gage having a great senior campaign throughout the rest of the summer and school season coming up.

Gage is a quick, versatile guard that has a keen eye for the basketball at all times throughout his games. He easily recognizes laziness with the ball and strikes at the perfect times, racking up steal after steal and nabbing extra possessions for his squad. He’s got a knack for swiping without fouling and he’s smart with when he picks his opportunities. He’s got a PRETTY floater that he’ll go to often in the lane in order to sink shots over taller defenders in the paint. King can also shoot lights out from beyond the arc and he moves excellently without the ball, making him an incredibly well-rounded player. He’s fantastic at staying in front of his man and fighting through picks. You can tell he puts in plenty of work on his defensive game. I expect King to have an excellent junior season and to keep garnering more and more attention.
