Ross Van De Griek | Prep Hoops Scout
Gabe Stewart Jr, A 6-9 junior forward shows a lot of promise heading into his junior season, after spending the summer playing for the Puerto Rican U16 National Team. Stewart has no problem when it comes to finishing around the rim through traffic as he plays under control and doesn’t tend to make many mistakes on the offensive end. He also has great hands where he can catch tough passes as well as finish from the outside when left with space. On the defensive end, Stewart does a great job at staying in the paint crashing the boards playing with a ton of strength and physicality. He is also an above-average athlete where he can make plays happen on both ends of the floor.

The 6-9 power forward displays an all-around game on both ends of the floor whether it’s vicious dunks on the offensive end or his rebounding and shot blocking on the defensive end. Stewart has good size and plays with a high motor where he has started to play with more confidence around the rim. He also has tremendous footwork in the mid-range and has a smooth jump shot where he has knocked down with consistency. Stewart averaged a near double-double for Puerto Rico at the FIBA Americas U16 Championships this summer.
