About Fami
Expert Analysis
Tony Roe | Prep Hoops Scout
Yusuf is a fantastic athlete on the wing who loves to play downhill and attack the rim off the dribble. He has great body control around the rim and is able to contort himself to absorb contact and finish through it. He averaged 11.3 points, 2.2 rebounds, 2.0 assists, and 1.4 steals per game on 45% shooting as a sophomore for the Black Raiders.

One of three Yusuf brothers at East, Fami is the youngest of the three, heading into his junior year. He’s a hyper-athletic wing who can play above the rim in transition, and he provides some versatility on the defensive end of the floor with his length and explosive athleticism. He averaged 11.3 points per game as a sophomore and should take another leap as a junior.

The younger brother of the 2026 Yusuf twins, Fami is from a similar mold as his older brothers. He’s a long, athletic wing who can impact the game on both ends of the floor with his length and athleticism. He’s a terror in transition, finishing above the rim with authority and powering through contact around the rim. In the halfcourt he’s a good ball-handler who can create off the dribble either in one-on-one or ball screen actions and attack the rim as well as knock down shots from the mid-range.

Yusuf is an explosive athlete who can provide some highlight-reel players, especially in a setting like this that tends to get up-and-down quite a bit. One of the top players in the 2027 class, he’s an aggressive, downhill attacking guard who has great body control around the rim.

Fami was unguardable on Saturday, making an efficient 26 point performance look easy. He is great at creating space from defenders using the dribble and was connecting with some super difficult shots. He is always playing at his own pace, never looking sped up or uncomfortable. The freshman guard also showed off his athleticism with a one-handed dunk in the open floor and some mean blocks on defense. Yusuf was one of the top players I saw all weekend and sky is the limit for the Iowa prospect.
