David Flores was one of the most solid and well-rounded guards that I saw play at the Expo. For starters, his physicalityand ability to finish through contact at the rim was special. He was elite at using his shoulders and frame to create space,trucking directly into defenders and carving out angles for his finishes at the rim. This speciality, combined with his quickfirst step and agility, allowed him to create a lot of rim pressure and paint touches, which he converted into layups at ahigh level. This was also due to his vertical explosiveness, which allowed him to elevate over and around defenders foradvantageous angles around the rim. His off-ball proficiency was another element of his impact offensively. He providedelite spacing with his threat as a deep-range, off-the-catch three-point shooter, attacking closeouts with decisive drives andstep-back threes, as well as bringing high feel as a cutter, translating to open finishes for him at the rim. His threat as ascorer opened up many opportunities as a playmaker. He made reads at very high speeds and showed off some savvy skippasses.

A quick guard who can score from anywhere, Flores led the Stars in scoring (12.3), rebounding (4.1), and steals (1.4) per game last season. He moves his feet well on the defensive end and has quick hands, and he’s a solid shooting threat, burying just under 38% of his 3-point attempts as a sophomore.

Flores is a strong guard who can play with or without the ball in his hands, showing the ability to knock down shots off the catch or create quality looks for his teammates off the dribble. He’s a competitive guard who doesn’t shy away from contact around the rim.
