Scott Hankamp | Prep Hoops Scout
Miars is a talented guard with nice skills and upside. He’s shown quick feet and the ability to trap and be disruptive on the defensive end of the floor. Miars has shown off his smooth jumper more as of late, which is a good thing as he can hit it from deep with consistency.

Ethan Miars Ethan Miars 6'0" | PG/CG Olivet | 2026 MI had a really nice spring the Midwest Stampede South and deserves a look from scouts and coaches. He’s a very high energy defender that can defend the length of the floor as well as attack passing lanes and get steals and deflections. Miars has really quick and active feet on both ends of the floor and impressive straight line speed with and without the ball.

The speedy and tough guard was playing solid at the end of grassroots season. He turned that into a strong June and an impressive practice flipping back to grassroots ball. Miars again looked very quick, but also very confident with the ball in his hands. Miars is starting to see how dangerous his jumper is and can be.

Miars has been rolling with the Midwest Stampede South team and you can see the improvement in his game. Miars was playing at a different pace. This was very evident defensively. Early in the scrimmage, Miars picked off a pass and turned it into a steal and score. He played with a low base and attacked the ball on D. Miars showed off a nasty pull up jumper and an on target 1 handed swing pass to a cutter.

Miars really deserves a look from some scouts and coaches. His toughness has to be admired. 2 weeks ago Miars played 36 minutes on an injured ankle. No complaints. Just went out and went to work. That’s the kind of young man that builds programs.

Miars was one of the all around toughest kids in the gym last weekend. He suffered an injury, but because of the small roster, battled through it. In fact, he played an entire game through it. Miars looked more confident in his shot and he showed why by connecting on it. He was a key ball handler and initiator of the offense for the Stampede.

Miars really ran the floor well on Sunday. His ability to get down the floor actually led to some looks at the rim. Miars is a very solid shooter and can pull up off the bounce. His coach even encouraged him to put it up.

Miars was impressive at the Midwest Clash. He was excellent running the wings. Miars consistently ran the floor and made himself available for a push the pace pass. He also made good decisions with the ball off that pass.

Miars will be playing with the Midwest Stampede South. This young man is a very underrated player that can and will put his name on the map this season. Miars is reliable and dependable with the ball. He doesn’t over dribble and he makes solid decisions about when to shoot and when to move the ball. I’ve been VERY impressed with his play early this spring.
