Downey-Lamprey finalized his plans for college with a commitment to Rochester Institute of Technology. Coming off a strong summer, Downey-Lamprey proved to have great value on both ends of the floor. He shines defensively with his ability to guard across a lineup, rebound at a high level, and be a vocal presence on the back line. Offensively, he’s able to play on the interior or the perimeter, capitalizing on his combination of basketball IQ, size, skill, and strength. He plays with a high motor that allows him to be an effective offensive rebounder, can finish in the post with either hand, and does a good job of initiating offense out of the high post. Without the ball, he’s a reliable perimeter shooter that does a good job of spacing the floor from the forward position. RIT continues to recruit at a high level as Downey-Lamprey profiles as a future all-conference type of player in the Liberty League.
