Emory McIntyre Emory McIntyre 6'2" | CG Daniel | 2030 SC leads off this list of my five best from the Carolinas Freshman Showcase. McIntyre was one I was looking at with March’s 2030 Rankings debut in mind, and he did nothing but help his case for the top spot on Sunday. Emory is the best shooter in South Carolina’s freshman class, but he also has a strong frame for a guard his age to help him get to the rim and play inside the perimeter. He also brought a good defensive motor, which forced turnovers and allowed him to put on a couple of shows above the rim in transition. I’m excited to see how big of an impact Emory can have in his freshman year at Daniel.

McIntyre has already received offers from Georgia, Coastal Carolina, and Presbyterian, and is the son of former Clemson star and current Director of Player Development Terrell McIntyre, so he has the profile and early body of work to be boasted as one of the best players in the state.

Emory is one of the top emerging prospects in South Carolina. Having just received offers from Georgia, Coastal Carolina, and Presbyterian, he was definitely one I wanted to watch compete against the best in the country. McIntyre didn’t have a ton of ball-handling or playmaking responsibility for this CP3 squad, but he did make his presence felt on the defensive end of the floor and got more comfortable offensively as the game went on. He is a skilled shooter off the catch, has a unique feel as a passer, and is explosive playing off two feet in the lane. Emory had 10 points, 4 rebounds, and 3 assists by my count until the 2:00 mark of the second half in a matchup with NY Rens.
