Expert Analysis
Jam Hines | Prep Hoops Scout
Kanga displayed an alluring blend of physical tools, shooting upside and feel flashes. The rangy big thrived as a rim finisher, which was highlighted by a smooth post spin finish in traffic. His fluid pull-up three looked fluid and confident. It makes me believe there is something to really unlock there. My favorite play from Kanga was an outstanding short roll read and drop off pass to Ibe for a monster dunk. Kanga’s tools and evolving skill set makes him a high ceiling big.

-The athleticism and spring in his step has returned to his previous form as Kanga was flying around defensively to block shots around the basket, rebound the basketball at a high level, and finish with two hands off of movement. Love his motor and activity as a roaming free safety defender that can cover a lot of ground on closeouts from the paint that deters slashers from attacking to the basket. The skillset is developing but he is an effective straight line driver from the wing that can also execute hook shots with either hand from the low block. George Mason got a steal.

Now that he is healthy again, I expect college coaches that value those skillsets to get involved with developmental plans to round out a floor game that has some upside
