Cooley is a shining example of what a leader can and should be. There’s never any concern or worry on his face or in his game and his teammates follow that lead. Cooley is just calm and cool at all times. I’ve seen him hit handfuls of big shots already and he looked unfazed in taking them.

Cooley was electric in the win against Lansing Waverly. He was feeling his jumper and hit multiple threes. Cooley was able to control pace and helped extend the lead by beating the defense down the floor. He did it with both the down court pass and by speeding down the court and being the recipient of the pass. Even more impressive was that he was consistently 1 of the first 2 back on D.

Cooley is a player that I’m very familiar with. He’s a high IQ and high energy point guard. Cooley has a natural instinct and feel for the action and the moment is never too big for him. He has the ability to create for himself as well as distribute, and he does them both at a very high level.

Cooley’s name is on speed type on my computer. Coming off the strong performance at the open gym at Waterford Kettering, he looked really good once again. Cooley was just so slick at th elite camp that defenders had a hard time staying in front. Cooley consistently looked down the floor and showed that he could push the pace with both the dribble and the pass. His handles were strong and he used them to create and keep space.

Cooley has frequented my pages through grassroots season. He’s earned it and this look like it will continue for a few more years. Cooley is just super smooth with an unteachable feel for the game. Even in an open gym, he made smart passes and smart decisions with the ball.

Cooley is just so calm, cool and collected. He’s a true lead guard that wants to pass and distribute, but knows when a bucket is there or needed. Even in a tight game on Sunday, you could tell he was a leader and he was definitely making plays late in the game.

Cooley has a very electric game. He’s smooth as can be with the ball. Cooley is like the spark that makes show go. He gets to his spots and makes plays for his teammates and delivers pin point passes.

Taking into account class, Cooley is the most impressive player I’ve seen so far this summer. A true point guard who can play without the ball, but his team is better when he has it. His passing is already elite, and he’s smart enough to not force the issue. The rising sophomore has a pass-first mentality with the ability to make open 3s and finish at the rim, already a solid offensive player. My favorite part, however, of Cooley’s game is his aggressive on-ball defense. Usually, if any players choose to give less effort in the summer, it shows on the defensive end. This was not the case for anyone on Grand Blanc and Emmanuel in particular. It was fun to watch him move his feet, utilize his wingspan, and defend without hand-checking! Cooley should find himself near the top of the 2028 class this fall.

Cooley has been lights out this spring for Oakland Elite . And that’s while playing up. He’s next man up in an impressive run of talent at Grand Blanc, a school that knows a little something about high quality PG’s. Cooley is slick and elusive and tricky with the ball. He can find space when there doesn’t look to be any.
