Expert Analysis
Brian Flinn | Prep Hoops Scout
A talented scorer and dangerous shooter, Goldberg will likely be one of the focal points of the Westminster offense in the Fall and Winter. He moves well off the ball and doesn’t hesitate to let it fly. Goldberg also is capable of scoring at the rim and looks like he should fill out a bit more in the long run.

Goldberg, a guard out of the Westminster School in Connecticut, makes his first appearance in the rankings at #116 overall. The #22 ranked shooting guard, Goldberg is a 6’4″ guard with a good frame, shows the ability to score inside and out, and is a fluid mover in space. He does a nice job of timing up his cuts and shows good instincts as a mover without the basketball. He’s proven to be a high level shooter in catch and shoot situations, but also has begun to score with touch around the rim and over size. Defensively, he knows how to play angles and uses his length to make an impact in passing lanes.

Goldberg is shooting the heck out of the ball this season for a Westminster team that’s playing solid basketball. The 6-foot-4 wing has excellent footwork for his size and does a really good job coming off screens and backpedaling into shots (something very difficult for young players to do), and he shoots it pretty quickly. Some improvements to his off-the-dribble game would be massive for his development, and some better quickness and jumping ability as he gets older wouldn’t hurt either. But at his size and shooting ability, he has a lot of the tools you want to see at this age.

His court awareness was evident throughout, highlighted by a quick spin move into a smooth layup. He’s a confident shooter with the ability to create space off the dribble. Defensively, he stayed engaged and active, consistently impacting plays with effort and positioning.
