About Elijiah

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

Elijiah Hines is a 5’10 combo guard that attends Orchard lake St. Mary’s, the number 1 highschool in Michigan and plays varsity. Elijiah is very shifty and gets to his spots at his own pace also he is a great shooter. He’s an excellent passer with great vision and is very unselfish. Elijiah is ranked 8th player in Michigan as well as the #2 point guard in the state in our Prep Hoops rank.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

He stated “My mentality is to always step on the court and destroy everybody who steps foot in front of me, I don’t fear anyone.” “I’m a great person and am very close to my family and is always positive.”

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

Hines Stated, “I’ve received honors and academic awards all 3 years of middle school, and also did student council for one year. I take pride in my school work because I know it will transfer in the future.”

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

“I’m a great leader and maintain a 3.9 gpa, while doing community service such as feeding the homeless every year.” He said “I’m in an organization called “money matters for youth” who teaches younger age kids on budgeting, stocks, and saving money every year.”

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

None

What type of college are you looking for?

Hines said, “my dream college is The university of North Carolina, this has been my dream college for a minute, I love the way they play and how coach Davis pushes his kids to be better.”

I was really impressed with how tough Orchard Lake St Mary’s played, getting an upset win over Toledo Central Catholic in the 2 Vs 7 seed game of the tournament. Hines is the engine that makes Orchard Lake St Mary’s go, getting to the paint off the dribble, hitting kickouts to shooters, knocking down floaters. When Orchard Lake St Mary’s needed a bucket in the half court, Hines was the one making plays for himself or others. As just a sophomore, it’s impressive that he’s been able to take command of the offense for such a storied program.
