William Lloyd III | Prep Hoops Scout
No. 79 – No. 52
Mobley has a laser-sharp jumpshot that is lethal when he gets it going. While his shooting jumps out, Elijah is sneaky with the handle and can maneuver into open spots off the dribble. He creates for himself well and finds spots to score very efficiently. Elijah always lets the game come to him, and sometimes he finds his rhythm on the defensive end making stops and deflections. I like the way Mobley always makes himself a threat with the ball even if he isn’t looking to make an aggressive play. He keeps the defense guessing which makes him unpredictable when he elects to work towards a basket. Able to shoot it from inside and outside the arc at a high clip, but attacks the basket consistently making him very versatile. Huge jump in our rankings from his production this year.

Good looking PG with size. Impress with his ability to shoot the ball consistently from all three levels. Elijah pull up/floater game is solid and ability to make sound decisions on the ball initiating the offense is noticeable.

Mobley was outstanding to watch vs Flint Hill. His IQ jumped out immediately, had a couple of simple drives to the rim that he finished on a jumpstop, one resulted in a strong finish and the second leading to a kickout for an open 3. Mobley’s jumper is sound and smooth, felt like he made every single open three he took. His shooting wasn’t all he provided, he broke down the defense plenty of times and finished with a smooth pull-up or a contested floater. His defense was on par as well, timed a handful of steals by reading the passing lanes. Seemed to make the right play every time he was in control. Excited to see more of Mobley as he should be on the college scouts radar this senior season.

-Mobley uses a herky jerky change of pace with the ball in his hand to throw his defender’s timing off and get to his spots in the halfcourt. He’s much more comfortable creating his own offense off the bounce, utilizing a sidestep or stepback to shift his defender and get off a clean look. Mobley will need to add in more upper body strength and straight line speed to get past his defender more consistently to see and execute on better passing windows that those drives would create. But he’s a name to monitor for Division II programs.

is a pure scorer and although he does a couple of other things well, the scoring is what he is best at. Elijah can pass the ball well and is a smart player overall. Elijah is more of a two-guard for me going forward even though he is a combo guard right now. Elijah transferred to Springdale Prep after being at Quality Education in North Carolina and he is someone I want to see more of this year.
