Lubsey, who was just named FACA District 16 MVP, has had himself one phenomenal senior year. The 6’8″ forward has been doing it all for the Bobcats this season, where he is averaging 21.4 ppg and 11 rpg. Lubsey can be force down low, but also has a nice touch and efficient outside game. He’s a tremendous rebounder on both ends of the court and has led North Port to the #5 seed in their region. Lubsey showed out in district play with a 31 point and 18 rebound performance in round 1, and followed that up with a 25 point, 13 rebound outing in the semi-finals.

Lubsey is a dominate player who can completely take a game over. The 6’8″ PF has been a force all year where he is averaging 20.7 ppg and 10.5 rpg, and has recorded 10 double-doubles on the season. He notched his 1,000 career point earlier this year, and is the go-to guy for his Bobcats squad. In his last 2 games he scored 31 points and 10 rebounds in a win over Venice, and prior to that he finished with 28 points and 20 rebounds, including 5 threes, in a win against rival Port Charlotte. If North Port looks to make a run this postseason, it will have to be on the back of their senior leader, Lubsey.

The 6’8″ PF has been an absolute beast for North Port this season. Lubsey has recorded double-figures in all but 1 game this year, and has already recorded 6 double-doubles on the season. He has 3 games over 30 points and scored a season high in a dominate performance over the Imagine School with 39 points and 19 rebounds. He’s averaging 19.8 ppg and 10 rpg, and just became the fifth-player ever to score 1,000 points in North Port’s history. Lubsey helped lead the Bobcat’s to 5-straight wins to close out 2023, including being named to the Chick-Fil-A Classic All-Tournament team where he registered a total of 64 points in 3 games.

2023 stats: 18.8 PPG – 11.3 rebounds – 1.5 assists
The 6-7 versatile forward prospect has good size and athleticism to be effective around the rim or the mid-range. Lubsey has a good motor to stay active on the boards and displays solid agility to get up and down the floor. A double-double machine that’s helped his team to a 5-2 start. If he’s able to be consistent throughout the season, look out for an uptick in college interest.
