Expert Analysis
Jed Tai | Prep Hoops Scout
Full disclosure – Silbernagel would have been the pick for MVP if not for the fact he had to leave at halftime of the title game in order to catch a flight. Because up to that point, the 6-foot-5 forward had been absolutely dominant all weekend. It all started with an eye-popping 24-point, 21-rebound effort in the semifinals (with 3 assists, 3 blocks, and 3 steals to boot) in what was arguably the best performance in event history, and then he followed that up with 13 points, 8 rebounds, and 2 blocks in the first half of the finals. The unsigned 2A Player of the Year simply has an incredible nose for the ball on the boards and his combination of strength, footwork, and soft touch around the hoop made him unstoppable offensively.
