Nelson is a 2030 PG who is playing up two age groups with Harvest Development alongside the aforementioned Gradyn West Gradyn West 6'5" | SG/SF Grace Christian-Raleigh | 2029 State NC where they went to the Phenom Hoops Live in their backyard in Raleigh and he helped guide them to a 7-0 record on the weekend. Nelson controls the game with his ability to play at his pace and get where he wants on the floor. He initiates the offense and is also always making the right play when given the chance to run in transition. Nelson also shoots it with deep range off the catch or bounce, helping the spacing of the offense in a major way. He’s been such a consistent producer every time we see him and that doesn’t appear to change anytime soon.

Nelson is a guy we’ve known about for a while since he’s been playing real minutes on the varsity team for Grace Christian (Raleigh) since he was in middle school. Nelson is a smaller guard but possesses a ton of poise and self belief that allow him to have a real impact in high level games. Nelson is a guy you want running your team, he makes great reads with the ball in his hands and brings the ability to make shots from well beyond the arc. Nelson usually finds a way to get where he needs on the court within the offense and can take games over with his ability to make plays. As Nelson continues to add strength and athleticism as his body develops his efficiency will steadily improve. He’s a guy you want on your side in a big game and will continue to shine in every setting we see him.

Nelson was another guard from the 919 with a really strong weekend as he helped lead his Harvest Development 16u group to the Championship game vs Team Loaded South at The Big Shots Rise Tip-Off where they came up short losing by one in that game. Nelson is a supremely confident young lead guard with a really high level of feel and skill despite not being the biggest or most athletic guys. He did it playing up an age group in the 16u division but his level of fearlessness is truly what is allowing him to play at this level at this stage. Nelson’s deep range, ability to make the right play, and ability to shine alongside other talented players on big stages make him a 2029 guard to watch closely.
