Expert Analysis
Tom Keller | Prep Hoops Scout
Stish has a very unorthodox game but found different ways to put the ball in the basket. He is effective as a slasher or playing out of the mid-post area of the floor. Stish showed he can score from behind the arc. He is able to exploit mismatches throughout the game. He also seems to have gotten bigger. Would like to think Stish will be a priority for division twos and threes throughout eastern Pennsylvania.

It’s gone a bit under the radar outside of the area, but Stish has quietly been one of the more productive underclassman guards in the state over the past couple years. An unorthodox but effective scoring guard with versatility across the backcourt, he shows a herky-jerky on-ball game that routinely leads to paint touches for crafty finishes or smart advance passes. He slides off-ball comfortably as a borderline-knockdown shooter off the catch. Slower of foot, he’ll have to rely on his size and IQ to hold up defensively at the scholarship level but deserves real looks over the next year from programs up to the low D1 range.

Last week we highlighted Stish as a prospect to watch during the May live period and he did not disappoint. At EYCL S2 Stish displayed a highly accurate 3-point shot as well as dribble drive and transition scoring skills. Stish’s jumper possesses a quick release and logo distance range. Last weekend Stish did a fantastic job of establishing his perimeter shooting to set up his attacks on the rim. When a defender chaotically closed out on Stish to prevent a 3-point attempt by him, Stish put the ball on the deck and got to his mid-range spots or all the way to the tin. His ability to hit tough shots in traffic was impressive too. During EYCL S2 action, Stish posted 11 points and 6.5 rebounds per game while shooting 47% from behind the arc.

The first thing that pops about Stish is his lights out 3-point shooting. With his unlimited range, quick release and non-stop off ball movement, Stish is extraordinarily difficult to guard along the arc. Stish also excels at splashing trail threes on the fast break. This agile guard prospect owns underrated dribble skills too. Stish will use his crafty handles to get into the mid-range for jumpers and leaners. College coaches will love his ability to use a jump-stop and then score or pass off two feet. Stish will also surprise opponents with his rebounding at both ends.
