His effective scoring around the basket played a crucial role in maintaining the team’s lead. Beyond his offensive prowess, Drake also contributed significantly on the glass. In various situations, he skillfully executed tight interior passes to his teammates, setting them up for successful scoring opportunities. Additionally, Drake demonstrated his driving skills, making plays in the lanes for himself and his teammates.

In the mid-range Barrett did a lot of damage, getting to his spots for pull-ups or combating tight defense with high arcing fadeaway jumpers that looked natural against shot contests, creating space in isolation situations. He had a presence on the boards on both ends through sheer effort, simply crashing hard with the ultimate pursuit of the ball, often winning the battle for coast-to-coast takes or second chance shots, turning rebounds into immediate offensive opportunities.

Barrett showed he is not afraid to carry the scoring load on his back and scored from all three levels of the floor. Drake also helped handle the ball in the half court under constant pressure the entire contest and was a key contributor in the assists category. Coming off a great summer with Houston Apex, Drake will continue to be a leader for Hargrave in the long run going into his senior year. Barrett also contributed 6 rebounds in the game, helping crash the glass. A true three level scorer and shooter, Barrett impacts the game on offense in multiple ways.

Drake was a consistent, knockdown shooter from range in Hargrave’s blowout home win over Shepherd last week. He knocked down four threes and had 5 assists in a good demonstration of what is he capable of on the offensive end. Barrett came away with 17 points total from this game and is a big-time threat to score the ball whenever he is on the floor. If any college coaches need a knockdown shooter, they need to take a look at Drake because he is not afraid to launch from deep even in the face of tough defense!
