About Diogenes

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

Combo guard, excellent shooter off the catch, team play style pass first, 3point preference shot, but not afraid to put it on the floor.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I’m driven, hard worker, leader, very vocal during plays, try to uplift my team mates. I have a winner mentality and hate to lose. I play through my emotions. I’m the type of player to help up an opponent after they get knocked down.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

AAU and USATF track and field with La Crosse Track Club 4H Medary Club Volunteer: Hunger Task Force La Crosse, Kane Street Community Garden

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I’ve learned to be good at improvising in stressful situations such as in a game, in practice or off the court. I’ve learned to bring my teammates together by being a vocal and uplifting leader and through my actions by encouraging teammates with positive reinforcement and helping them up when they are down.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

I started playing basketball when I was 13 in 8th grade at Logan Middle School. I came off the bench from the B team of my 8th grade basketball team. That year I went from knowing nothing about basketball to being moved to the varsity team and was named MVP of the season.

What type of college are you looking for?

An inclusive college with a winning history that would give me the best opportunity to grow and succeed as a player and a person.

Leone got off to a hot start for CV Select in its win over the Wisconsin Playmakers , making three triples in the first six minutes of the contest. He also made some big triples down the stretch to keep CV Select in front despite some rallies by the Playmakers. Leone finished with 18 points on the strength of five three-point baskets. A backcourt player with good size and skill, Leone played on the JV1 squad at La Crosse Logan after a transfer from Aquinas as a junior.
