Akron Buchtel has a new look team after graduating a lot of major pieces from their state championship winning squad. After stepping up in some crucial playoff games, including 8 points in the regional final against Gilmour last season, Pride has gone from a role piece to a leader on the team. Very quick with the ball in his hands and able to get in the lane, Pride can score it at the rim or from 3-point range. Pride won player of the game in their opening season showcase game against Pickerington North, a tough overtime loss. Once again looking like the class of the Akron City League, it’ll be interesting if a senior laden core can help Buchtel get back to Dayton this winter.
