Dexter is a potential breakout star for a Central team that is working to get back to the thick of the 7th region title race. Mcatee shoots the ball at a high level and is a willing defender. Now playing more of a point guard position, Dex’s ballhandling has really improved and his strong frame allows him to be a physical driver. If Mcatee can get his motor running 100% of the time, he could work his way on to college radars this next season.

I’ve watched Dex’s game evolve over the years and he has continuously put the the work in to get better. He was most effective in the open court at the KY Expo this past Sunday. He operated well at the helm of fast break situations, more often than not finishing buckets at the rim but also finding cutting teammates when he needed to. He also found success as a lane runner who was rewarded for his hustle and effort to get up the court in a hurry. Beyond that, Dex’s jumper has pleasantly matured which could be indicative of a better year beyond the arc in terms if efficiency.

Similar to Grayson Burton Grayson Burton 6'4" | SG Corbin | 2028 State KY in the last article, McAtee is on the move thanks to his dad getting the job at Central. Dexter is a strong guard with some dog in him. He’s capable of locking up on the defensive end and is an advanced driver and finisher who has scholarship level upside. Look for Central to be much improved this season.

It’s hard to shine in a camp setting as a guard but Dexter showed flashes of playmaking that will get him on the court early and often for a Moore team that will need him to be good as a freshman if they’re going to be a factor in Louisville.
