Derrick Brown Derrick Brown 5'9" | PG Arlington Bowie | 2025 State TX was a high-volume shooter with a love for the deep ball, consistently taking and making shots well beyond the professional range. He showed off the ability to confidently pull-up and knock down shots from several feet behind the arc, showcasing exceptional shooting range and accuracy. Brown’s confidence in his shooting ability forced defenders to guard him as soon as he crossed half-court, effectively stretching defenses to their limits. His threat from long range created spacing and opened up driving lanes for his teammates, adding versatility to his team’s offensive strategy.

2025 DJ Brown had himself a weekend at the Mavs Fall Classic in Dallas. I got to catch him and one of the states top 5A teams Mansfield Summit twice at event. He was sharp from the start bringing energy on both sides of the ball. The first game vs a talented Hebron squad he was able knock down 4 triples and a couple of jump shots, he also added some big steals through out the game. I was impressed then but had no idea about what was coming in the 3rd place championship the next day. He came out on fire vs a ranked Keller team. He started the game with 3 triples in a row and really sparked the team for the rest of the game ending with 20. He’s also efficient with his mid range game. Can pull up off the dribble or catch and shoot. Defensively he’s everywhere making life hard for bigger guards. Dj was impressive in week 2, make sure to have him on your watchlist for the season.
