Givens can flat out hoop. I haven’t scouted him lately, but I know the last time that I did, I came away more than impressed. He was a terrific all around athlete with an explosive first step. Givens could turn the corner on his defenders and attack the basket off the bounce.

I believe he might have the nickname ‘Pit Bull’. That would be fitting. Givens can take off in a hurry, exploding off the start. This makes his hesitation move more than effective. Givens isn’t just flash though, he can finish with some pretty touch.

There is no doubt that Givens can prepare a dish on the basketball court. He’s electric with the ball in his hands. Givens uses his speed and first step speed to attack the defense. He’s a playmaker on both ends of the floor.

I could have predicted a high level of basketball success when Givens was in 7th grade. I can’t take the credit for discovering him, as it was Coach Dell Johnson that alerted me to this young man’s game. Givens gets it done on both ends of the floor. He’s generally just quicker and faster than most. Givens is at his best using his speed and footwork to get downhill going at the rim.
