Dean Quaye Jr. continues to prove why he deserves serious attention from college programs still searching for backcourt help in the 2026 class. The physical combo guard had another productive weekend at the CBG Championships, showing his ability to create offense while competing at a high level on both ends of the floor.
After playing a national schedule at S3 Academy during his senior season, Quaye looked comfortable in high-level competition and never backed down from tough matchups. What immediately stands out about his game is his toughness and confidence with the ball in his hands. He does a great job getting to his spots, creating separation, and making difficult shots in traffic.
Quaye also impacts the game beyond scoring. He consistently pressures opposing guards full court, plays with energy defensively, and makes hustle plays that help swing momentum. His ability to defend, compete, and play through contact gives him value for programs looking for guards who can contribute immediately.
Late in the recruiting cycle, finding experienced guards who bring toughness and production is important, and Quaye checks a lot of those boxes. He looks like a player who can thrive in the right college system because of the edge and competitiveness he brings every possession.

is a guard who continues to trend upward while competing on a national schedule with S3 Academy. He plays with toughness on both ends of the floor. He brings a competitive edge. This edge shows up in winning plays. Quaye excels at attacking the basket, finishes well through contact, and applies constant pressure defensively as an on-ball defender. He’s also a reliable shooter who has been playing some of the best basketball of his career this season. Quaye has flown under the radar for some. Still, his toughness, versatility, and two-way impact will translate immediately to the college game. He has a great physical and long frame. This helps him on both sides to muscle past smaller defenders. He also uses his length well to disrupt passes. I fully expect him to be a steal for any program lucky to land him.
