Expert Analysis
Tony Roe | Prep Hoops Scout
Gorsline is an undersized but physical and athletic forward who rebounds extremely well on both ends of the floor, using his great hands, explosive bounce, and physical box outs to carve out space as a rebounder and then outleap opposing players for rebounds. He’s a versatile defender with the length and athleticism to defend smaller players, and the physicality and bounce to contest shots against bigger bodies in the paint. A lot of his work on the offensive end comes around the rim, but he showed a fairly reliable jumper out to the high school line, knocking down shots with a smooth release.

Solid player who contributes in several categories each game, usually score and rebounding. Has a nice perimeter shot with sound footwork and balance. Debatably the best perimeter defender on this team. He has an act for rebounding, especially on the offensive side of the floor. Understands timing of the missed shot and timing his jump, to work in unison.

Gorsline is one of those throwback “bring your hard hat” type players. He’s an undersized four at 6-2, but he plays much bigger than that with his athleticism, toughness, and non-stop motor. He loves to compete on the glass (7.0 rebounds a game), will defend anyone at the high school level and do it well, and he’ll finish his opportunities around the rim. He has worked to extend his range and produced well last year, knocking down nearly 39% of his 3-point attempts, and his relentless energy rubs off on his teammates. He’s tough as nails and is always going to compete on every possession.
