About David
Expert Analysis
Kyle Sandy | Prep Hoops Scout
After initially slated to play with Berkmar as a freshman but instead playing his first two seasons at Duluth, Culbreath-Martin is now officially a Patriot. David is a savvy floor general. He’s strong and compact. He excels at getting to his pull-up jumper and has the ball on a string, able to freeze defenders before getting downhill. David is an unselfish playmaker with advanced court vision. He was an All-Region selection this past season.

down low. Culbreath hit the game-winning and-1 to take down Tucker on Friday and hit some other clutch shots down the stretch in that game too. Culbreath’s ball-handling and shot making ability should help Berkmar tremendously and they now have one of the best 2025 trios in the state.

The 5-11 point guard played with a ton of poise and energy for Berkmar including hitting the game-winning shot with 0.5 seconds left. Culbreath is also a solid ball-handler who used his speed to his advantage in scoring tough shots on the break. He was an unselfish leader who always made the extra pass to set up a great shot for his teammates. Huge upside for Culbreath for the rest of the summer as well as going into his junior season.

Earning Second Team All-Region 7-7A honors is a big deal, especially if you do it as a freshman. David is one of the best young guards in Gwinnett County. The way he handles the ball and how he’s able to get to his spots on the floor are seldom seen out of a freshman. He’s a sharp athlete that can explode to the rim, but also has the shiftiness to hit step-back jumpers as he creates space.
