In a battle between stud 2027 point guards, it was some under the radar names really standing out in this game. Will has a quickness and burst on the ball that was tough for Hilliard Bradley to stop as he started the game with a corner 3-pointer and then a few possessions later knocked one down from the wing. As a dribble driver, Will made a couple nice skip passes to teammates. Fellow senior Jared Klucenic also stood out for Ursuline, making big time plays to help them get a quality neutral court victory.

One of the top guards in the Youngstown area, Will made a splash for Ursuline last season as a transfer and took another step this season helping the Irish make the final four in Division II. A quick guard off the dribble, Will was able to beat his defender off the bounce and score. A reason he’s able to score at the rim is his ability to finish with both hands in the paint. I thought Will did a nice job with drop offs to his bigs when help came on his drives. Combine this with the ability to make shots from the perimeter and Will is a tough offensive player to guard at the high school level. Expect the Irish to once again be in the mix to compete for a state title.

A new name for me, this was my first chance to scout Will and he was an easy standout. A quick guard who really got after ball handlers at the point of attack defensively. Causing turnovers with his pressure, this led to easy transition looks for his team. Also a capable shooter from the outside, Will knocked down open 3-pointers within the flow of the offense. I’ll be curious to continue to scout Will as he’ll be on a lot of small college radars based on what I saw Thursday night.
