Expert Analysis
Kevin Howell | Prep Hoops Scout
Daryl continues to impress during his senior campaign. Thunderous alley oop dunks happen often with his aggression of running the transition game. Daryl keeps defenders off balance with his three-point accuracy. Combined with a quick first step and a knock down mid-range game. Defenses will pick their poison when he is locked in. Johnson is ranked #16 by TABC and district record of 11-0. Johnson looks to put together a run in the 6AAAAAA playoffs.

6’7″ Daryl Banks Daryl Banks 6'7" | SF San Antonio Johnson | 2025 State TX was a player of elite versatility, excelling at multiple positions on the offensive side of the ball. He was highly effective without the ball, stretching defenses with his ability to fluidly knock down catch-and-shoot three-pointers. Additionally, Banks was a threat down low, maneuvering through the paint and playing out of the dunker’s spot. He had terrific timing and awareness for when to duck in, showcasing phenomenal hands for catching the ball and explosive leaping ability, often rising off two feet to throw down powerful dunks with ease. Banks also excelled on the boards, competing fiercely and consistently getting a hand on the ball, whether tipping it to himself or directing it to a teammate. His early dominance in games often drew double teams by the tail end of the first half, as opponents desperately tried to deny him the ball or force it out of his hands.

Daryl Banks Daryl Banks 6'7" | SF San Antonio Johnson | 2025 State TX should see his stock rise after a strong summer showing. Daryl continued playing aggressively with Johnson High School at the TABC event. Daryl can play inside but seems to be more comfortable facing up to the basket. Shoots the ball decent from the 3-point line, Daryl displays the ability to drive downhill, taking contact and scoring through contact. Defensively guards multiple positions… Expect a big senior season campaign.
