Rees’ magical senior campaign continues to roll on after an opening round win over Carrolwood Day. The 6’0″ CG has done it all this year and continues to score in bunches. He finished with a game-high 28 points and secured his Celtics a trip to the sweet 16 with that performance. Let’s see if Rees can continue this stellar run and pull off the upset against the #1 seed Northside Christian.

Not only one of the top scorers in SWFL, but in the entire state, Rees, has put together an amazing senior campaign for himself. The 6’0″ guard helped lead his team to a 20-5 record, while averaging 26.4 ppg and 8.5 rpg, and scoring nearly 700 points on the season. His scoring never dipped in the playoffs either, where he recorded 33 points and 13 rebounds in a win over CSN, before finishing with 23 points and 6 rebounds in a tough loss to FBA in the District Championship.

The area’s leading scorer, Rees, continued his scoring barrage with a 31 point effort in a win over Ida Baker. He’s eclipsed the 30 point mark multiple times this season, and can score from anywhere on the court, but can be deadly from three when he gets hot. Rees isn’t just a scorer though, he is a solid defender, and has sneaky bounce where he has been a huge asset on the boards for SJN.

One of the top scorers in the area, Rees, continues to impress and lead his team to a 12-6 record. The sharpshooter for SJN has posted multiple 30+ point games so far this season, and was recently named to the Bishop Verot Holiday Hoopfest All-Tournament team. Rees can quite literally score from anywhere on the court and is averaging 26.5 ppg, 8 rpg, and 3.5 asp, to go along with shooting 84% from the free-throw line.

This sharp shooting, high scoring, skilled senior guard is putting up big numbers for St. John Neumann. Rees has a quick release on his jumper that makes him difficult to guard off screens. The threat of his shot making make his ability to attack off the dribble more effective and he is a creative finisher around the rim. High academic small college programs should investigate during the next two months.

The sharpshooter for SJN, Rees, continues his hot play throughout this season. One of the top shooters in the area, he has unlimited range and can be deadly from behind the arc. The 6’0″ senior has an excellent mid-range game to compliment that, and also has the ability to beat you off the dribble and attack the basket, making him a true 3-level scorer, and a matchup nightmare. Rees posted multiple 30+ point scoring efforts, including a 34 point and 10 rebound performance in a win over Whitman Hanson.

was recognized with all-area honors, and his performance this past Saturday has only elevated his stature in SWFL basketball. Rees posted 39 points, 11 rebounds and 3 steals against a defensively stout Palmetto Ridge team. Daniel was lethal from beyond the arc, hitting numerous difficult pull-up jumpers, while mixing in a healthy dose of crafty drives to the rim. Although Rees’ Celtics ultimately came up short, Rees’ ability to overcome a quick deficit and keep his team composed full all 32 minutes was impressive, showcasing leadership that every coach desires in the point guard.

St John Neumann | 2026

was one of St. John Nuemann’s most impactful players. As a floor general, Rees possesses a great vision out of the pick and roll with the ability to hit his centers for pocket passes or his shooters for 3’s on the perimeter. Rees also plays the game at his own pace, rarely getting sped up even when faced with heavy ball pressure. As Rees goes into his senior season, look for Daniel to be even more aggressive when it comes to scoring basketball and expect him to propel his Celtics team to even greater heights this season.

Rees is a prospect who continues to elevate his game and impress each time he steps on the court. The 6’0″ senior is an elite ball handler who can score on all 3-levels. He has the ability to beat you off the dribble and attack the basket, or stop on a dime and knock down the mid-range jumper. The strongest part of his game might be from behind the arc, where he has a quick, high release, and shoots the 3-ball at a very high rate.

Rees seems to improve more and more every time I see him play. The 6’0″ SG from St. John Neumann has a terrific 3-point shot, but has shown he is more than just a sniper from deep. He has excellent handles and is a smart player with the ball in his hands. Rees is also very efficient when attacking the basket and has the ability to score on all 3-levels. This prospect can score in bunches, and plays the game with a cool, calm demeanor.
