Daniel Harris stood out to me on the defensive side.

My note was:

Good help-side defense. Can also help as a rim protector.

That’s important because defensive impact isn’t always about being the guy guarding the ball.

Knowing when to rotate, being in the right spot and having the length or timing to challenge at the rim can completely change a possession.

That’s the part I liked from Daniel.

If that defensive awareness continues developing, he can become a valuable piece on that end.

Harris brings a combination of positional size and defensive instincts that stood out during camp. His help-side awareness allows him to make plays away from the ball, and he has the tools to provide additional rim protection when possessions break down. That defensive activity gives him a foundation to build around as his offensive game continues to develop.

Daniel Harris Daniel Harris 6'3" | SF/SG Stonewall | 2029 State OK ended the summer averaging 14 points and 7 rebounds per game across his final two events on the NXTPRO circuit. Standing at 6’3, Harris is a guard with a strong frame that allows him to overpower other guards and even smaller forwards in the paint. Despite his physical build, he still brings plenty of agility and speed to get past defenders on the perimeter and attack the basket. Harris isn’t afraid to take the contested jumper or pull from deep, and he consistently connects from range thanks to his fundamental shooting form.

Defensively, he uses his size and instincts to disrupt passing lanes and make life difficult for opposing ball handlers. He’s also not afraid to challenge shots around him and can use his strength to make an impact on the glass. Harris brings a physical style of play on both ends of the floor that should make him a tough matchup heading into the winter.

Leader of a youth movement Stonwall squad, which reached Area in Class B-1. Is well on his way to being a 2,000 point scorer after scoring over 500 points as a freshman. Does a lot of his damage with quality shooting from beyond the arc. But he’s not just a sniper, he’s a big body stat sheet stuffing wing. Crashes the glass, and often causes havoc with “stocks”. Young prospect who knows how to play and will be an interesting “bet on production” small town standout for colleges to monitor.

Harris is off to a fast start for his high school career. With a pair of double doubles in only four games. He has helped Class B-1 Stonewall to a 3-1 start, with their only loss coming to a quality Class 2A team. Harris impressed at the PH Showcase a few months ago as skilled grinder. Those doubles double back that up, as he’s cleaning up on the glass. While also stepping out to hit three pointers. His blend of strength and skill should set him up for a super productive career in southern Oklahoma.

Jack of all trades. Plays strong around the rim, from taking bumps to finish at the rim, rebounding and contesting shots on defense. Clear signs that he will be “country strong” as he naturally matures. Smart player to go along with the gritty ways. Passed out of a three to whip a pass to an open teammate. Productive battler.
