Whew. Knew Creepingbear had made a jump this year based on scoring numbers and impressive highlights. On Friday night it looked like he had jumped a couple levels. Went out and got 41 points. Including leading the comeback in the fourth quarter. He had his full bag going. Going right at the chest and scoring against taller defenders. Floaters. Mid-range pull ups and nasty deep threes. He looked the part of a pure scorer on Friday night. While also having fiery moments on defense. Promising lefty who is playing some of the best basketball of anyone in Oklahoma.

After tasting a bitter overtime defeat in the State Quarterfinals last year, Creepingbear has been a man possessed. The junior long known for his attention to detail on defense has turned into one of the best scorers in the small town ranks. He’s pouring in 25.6 points a game, largely thanks to his tighter handle. Which has led to him being a tough off the dribble shot maker, while mixing in more creation off the bounce. Riverside is currently 6th in the Class 2A rankings and have played a tough schedule for a 2A team. With four of their losses coming to 4A teams, including a 2 point loss to the defending 4A champs Weatherford. Creepingbear and company will be well tested for their playoff run. And a potentially longer stay at the State Tournament.

The junior has been on a heater this season. His first two years of varsity play saw him shine as a tough defender and a scorer in spots. With some impressive scoring spikes. Now he’s become the go to man for a Riverside team looking for another Class 2A State Tournament appearance. Chains together crossovers, spins and more to be a handful off the bounce. Especially as he’s more fluid and quicker in his movement. Even can sky for lob dunks now. Add in three point shooting and the lefty is becoming one of the top scorers in Oklahoma’s small town ranks.

Sophomore playing up in the 17U Divison, who did not look out of place. Heady player on both ends of the court. Quick hands and a disruptive mindset on defense. Picked his spots to score well on offense, with efficient production in the games watched. Catch and shoot threat, who has some tricks off the dribble too. Complete with the ability to draw fouls off turnarounds and other jumpers. Type of guard who makes the game difficult for the opposition, and is valuable to his team.

The skilled sophomore brought it in the second half, with a tight handle. Has some wiggle to his game, scoring in a variety of ways. Got up to 17 points total, including good work in the mid-range. Creepingbear has always impressed with a good foundation for a youngster in viewings. And it was great to see him show off his skills on the biggest stage possible for small school ball in Oklahoma.

Daniel is a solid ball handler that is always looking to improve the flow of the offense. Taking control of setting up offensive sets and feeding teammates is one of his best skills. He isn’t one to play down to the level of competition, keeping a consistent approach each game. He can match his assists and points equally, not too focused on one or the other taking what the game gives. He is a decent defender that slides his feet quickly and keeps good posture to not let guards blow by easily.

The freshman has had some strong games this year, but his performance was a little more muted in the contest watched. He already has a great feel for the game, as he didn’t force bad looks. He was strong off the bounce, able to use ball fakes and patience to get open when defenders bit on his moves. The lefty also has to be accounted from deep. While in the game his role as more as a support player, bigger games are likely on the horizon as Riverside starts their playoff run.
