About Daijon
Expert Analysis
Aaron Villa | Prep Hoops Scout
Daijon is a hyper athletic guard that punishes the rim every chance he gets. He might be one of the most athletic players I seen in the whole event. He gets to the rim anytime he wants with his elite handle and next level quickness. He will try to dunk it down the lane or finish with acrobatic finesse finishes. He likes to get to his spots in the midrange area where he rises up over defenders. He hit multiple tough shots down the stretch showing off his clutch ability. Daijon looks to lead Mesa this year as the new number 1

The 6-foot-1 combo guard is an athletic and bouncy player that can score in volume, has the court awareness to make plays for his teammates, and excels in the open court where his natural abilities truly shine. Grayson had a decent start to the game but would catch fire in the second half, scoring 14 of his 18 points after intermission to help give his team the win over host Bakersfield Christian, 78 to 53. Grayson has shifty handles, uses the crossover, between-cross, behind-cross, and hesitation moves to get by his initial defender with a great burst of speed off the dribble, uses the Euro-step and reverse lay-ups to evade height in the paint, and is effective with the mid-range jumper and the floater down the lane. Grayson has solid court vision, is able to find the open teammates off the drive and kick pass, or out of the pick and roll action to the roller, and is a good rebounder to push the pace up the court. He moves well off the ball to get open looks and makes great use of the rip-through and attacks the paint to force the defense to react. Impressive guard that impacts both ends of the court and plays with a great motor.
