About Corey

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

My gameplay style is aggressive and versatile. I focus on scoring through both inside and mid-range shots, while also being able to stretch the floor as a shooting guard when needed. I’m always looking to attack the defense, whether it's creating my own shot or taking advantage of open opportunities.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

My mentality is rooted in humility and persistence. I always stay grounded, no matter the success, and focus on continuous improvement. I don’t quit, even when faced with challenges, because I believe growth comes from pushing through tough moments. I stay focused, keep a positive attitude, and am always ready to learn from every experience.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

In addition to playing for Royal Legacy and the Aces in 2022, I was honored to receive the MVP award in the Circit league in 2023. It was a recognition of my hard work and dedication, and it motivated me to keep pushing myself to be better both as a player and as a person.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

Through my experience with Royal Legacy, The Aces and I've developed strong leadership and teamwork skills. I've learned how to communicate effectively with my teammates, motivate others, and step up when needed, both on and off the court. Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

Yes, one challenge I’ve faced is dealing with my temper at times. I can get mad when things don’t go the way I want, whether it’s a bad play, a missed shot, or a tough loss. However, I’ve learned to manage it better over time by focusing on staying calm, taking a step back, and using that frustration to fuel my drive to improve. It’s a work in progress, but I’m always working on keeping my emotion

What type of college are you looking for?

I’m looking for a college that will help me grow both as a player and as a person, with strong basketball programs that can push me to reach my full potential. Schools like Duke, Kentucky, Kansas, and North Carolina have excellent coaching staffs, development programs, and exposure that can help me take my game to the next level and prepare for a shot at the NBA.
