Don’t look now, but Washington has rattled off six straight wins to get back above .500 at 11-10. On Tuesday evening the Hatchets defeated Mt. Vernon (Posey) 61-49 on the back of 24 points from Cooper Wright. The 5’9″ three-sport athlete is having a strong senior season for Washington and seems to be playing his best basketball of late.

Speedy senior guard out of Washington is a player that impacts the game on both ends of the floor. Really good defender that pressures the ball full court. Relentless in passing lanes looking to turn defense to offense in a hurry. Offensively he’s a heady guard that plays under control. Operates the pick and roll with the ability to get downhill and finish at the basket or can make any pass on the floor.

Shifty smaller guard with loads of confidence on the offensive end. Three-point shot is a work in progress, but really good in pick and roll situations. Able to read defenses and stop on a dime to make plays for others or rise up with good elevation in the midrange. Really pushes the tempo in transition. Disruptive defender all over the court.
