Jay Anderson | Prep Hoops Scout
Crudup continues to find his way as an unsigned senior who continues to draw interest from a number of LM/MM DI programs waiting to pull the trigger. He improved tremendously on running the show at the point guard spot and has improved on his shot-making over the past few months. He’ll be one of a few names to keep an eye on with Top Shot Basketball East at HoopSeen Atlanta Jam this upcoming live period weekend.

He didn’t waste any time getting to work, putting together his best showing of the day in the first game with 19 Points & 5 rebounds. Has good upper body strength, gets to his spots without much of an issue and has a nice IQ for the game. Colleges at the D1 and D2 levels have expressed a good amount of interest as he will be a very nice late pickup for a program at this level.

His numbers this season have been simply outstanding as he leads his team in scoring, rebound and assist while finishing with over 20 wins for the season. A strong Guard that gets where he wants on the court, he embraces contact well and doesn’t mind mixing it up inside the paint.

Crudup had himself a strong outing on Saturday at the HoopState Hoopsgiving as he led the Southern Wake Academy Lions to a marquee victory over defending state champs, Wilson Prep Academy. He finished with 32 points, eight rebounds, six assists and two steals on 12-of-19 shooting from the floor as he continues his ascent up the unsigned senior ranks. He’s quietly showing his growth at the lead guard role. LM/MM schools and DII programs would be wise to get eyes on him.

Crudup was right behind Rechetnikov in the scoring column, finishing with 12 points, though down the stretch, things slowed for him. He opened things up with nine points but the CA defense was able to fluster him enough. He’ll look to get back to working his mid-range game and make things easier for himself as a lengthy scoring guard.

Crudup comes into his senior season sporting a stronger frame and looking to run the floor general spot with his ability effect the game on both ends of the floor. He’s shown tremendous growth over the past few months as a presence in the backcourt that control the pace and defend the entire floor with his length and athleticism.
