Wood is a big from Swanton that I don’t think many can check his size and ability to move. He seemed to have slimmed down and that has helped with his athletic ability but still has a nice big strong frame. He is a physically imposing player that will make you feel beat up after the game. He is a monster on the rebounds on both ends. A nice rim protector that makes you think twice when going to the rim.

One of the tallest players at the event, and in Ohio, Wood is a prospect who is sure to draw college interest. I thought Wood did a nice job of scoring with his back to the basket, making his height a clear advantage. When Wood got position, he either shot over shorter players or finished with a powerful dunk. Also trying to expand his range, I saw Wood attempt more 3-pointers than I’ve ever seen before. While the 3-pointers were intriguing, I found his play in the paint most encouraging on Sunday.

Wood was someone I had to check the packet a couple of times to make sure it was the right player. He seems to have gotten bigger and has transformed his body. He lost weight and it has opened up his ability to move and stretch the floor. He has great touch on his jumper. He was dominant in his time slot. He is still very strong and physical. I think he is a player that colleges need. He is a dang good player. It was shocking how much better he had gotten.

Wood is a big kid that dominates the way you want him to. He isn’t afraid of throwing his body around for rebounds or position in the paint. Moves really well too. Played a lot of the game, ran the court, and played hard. Some really good footwork and touch around the rim. He hit a lot of over-the-shoulder shots with either hand. Made quick, strong, and decisive moves. He is a college-level player that I think can develop very nicely at the next level.
