Expert Analysis
Eric Wallace | Prep Hoops Scout
A First Team All-District selection and recent Hood College commit, Battaglia has built his game around toughness, competitiveness, and two-way impact. He is extremely active on the defensive end, applying pressure, jumping passing lanes, and turning steals into instant offense in transition. His motor and defensive instincts consistently create extra possessions for his team.
Offensively, Battaglia is strong and crafty with the ball in his hands. He absorbs contact well, attacks off the dribble with purpose, and finds ways to get into the paint to either finish or create opportunities for teammates. His combination of physicality, defensive intensity, and downhill mentality should allow him to transition smoothly to the college level.

, Battaglia was excellent in two evaluations this week. The 6’2 guard plays with some toughness and was very active on the defensive end, with the ability to turn steals into instant offense at the other end of the floor. He is strong and crafty enough to absorb contact and get into the paint off the dribble and should be a steal for a small college program in 2026.

Battaglia was another productive senior guard on Tuscarora and helps make up the two-headed monster with Byrd. Battaglia, who just recently started focusing on basketball full time, brings a level of toughness that the eye test wouldn’t lead you to. He had multiple plays in their two games where he initiated contact on drives or while airborne and took the defender by surprise. In those instances, he maintained control and concentration to finish the play. He’s a capable shooter, has a solid feel for the game, and is a name I believe should be on DIII programs in the region. He brings an edge with his competitiveness. Battaglia averaged 18 points per game for the Huskies.
