About Cayden

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I play fast with aggression and smoothness. I would say I have good instincts, court awareness. I move down the court well and have an eye for the ball. I play fundamentally sound defense. On the offensive side, I would say I am very athletic and I always look to make the extra pass before I look to score. I try to be the best play maker on the floor.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I’ve often been characterized as a calm individual with an old soul, especially in the context of the game. My approach is marked by intense focus and mental resilience. I have a genuine passion for helping others and believe in the potential for greatness in everyone. At times, I feel compelled to speak the truth, even when it's difficult.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I volunteered for fall softball to help disable kids feel apart of the school sports. Since joining Friendship Tech Prep program I’ve volunteered to be a player coach during the fall league on the JV team to aid the coaches in delivering requirements to players excel in the game.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I feel that I’m a collaborative leader. I take into account the team thoughts as well as what’s right. The goal is to make the best decision for the team when placed in the position to do so.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

I haven’t faced any significant challenges because I have a great support system who places the pros and cons of every decision in front of me.

What type of college are you looking for?

I am looking for colleges who have coaches that are motivated and driven, that is loyal to the program and players. Coaches that will enforce the standards while expecting and ensuring players exceed the basic requirements. As for as the school, I am looking for a people first school. We are people and just want our schools to care the way we do.

Cayden has embraced his role this season and has become one of those players that consistently makes winning plays without needing a ton of touches. He scores when the opportunity presents itself, doesn’t press for shots, and understands how to let the game come to him. He’s also brought value on the defensive end, competing and rebounding, while doing the little things that help his team stay solid. Cayden is a confident shooter who will knock down open looks when defenses are late, and his offensive game continues to grow as he improves his slashing ability. Through the midseason point, Morrison has shown he can impact the game in multiple ways, and that steady growth is what makes him a name to track moving forward.
