Expert Analysis
Colby Giacubeno | Prep Hoops Scout
Dyches had an impressive ending to his high school career and could very well end up out-playing his rankings here in the long term. The 6-foot-2 combo guard is a threat from range and pulls the trigger quickly on the catch, giving his defender little to no time on closeouts to get a clean contest. With sound mechanics, a fluid release and the ultimate confidence, he has the ability to knock down four or more three’s in any given game if the defense isn’t locked in. He’s by far a one-trick pony though, as Dyches can maneuver well off the bounce with crossovers, spins or hesitations and expose driving lanes where he showed improved touch and body control on finishes this year. He’s a physical, stout defender who can check either guard position, remains active in the passing lanes off the ball and never hesitates to do his work on the glass.
