Piatt-Brown changed the momentum of this game on the defensive end. It was a real back-and-forth first half because of the scoring from the guards of Westerville South. He then decided to take the challenge head-on and applied immense ball pressure. This sped the Wildcat guards up and started to turn them over. He dictated everything the offense was doing. He was physical when he needed to be on defense. His athletic ability and length were great, and he was often seen blowing by guards and getting to the rim on the offensive end. He picked his time to attack well. He made a huge winning impact without being the top scorer for his team.

One of the best stationary passers in Ohio, Piatt-Brown had a couple slick wrap-around passes and hits cutters on time and on target in Delaware Hayes impressive offense that is centered around off-ball screening action and cutting. Piatt-Brown also knocked down a couple 3-pointers, took a charge and executed off BLOB plays. If players want to know how to impact the game without needing to dribble the basketball, watch Piatt-Brown play.

Delaware Hayes had a full roster on Saturday and looked impressive with their experienced core of returning Juniors and Seniors. I could’ve picked a couple prospects to spotlight but I went with Piatt-Brown due to his quick decision making, unselfishness and efficiency. Another team that shared the ball at a high level and let the open man score, Piatt-Brown did a nice job hitting teammates streaking down the court after rebounds and steals and when the ball was swung to him, Piatt-Brown was not shy to knock down the open shot. Watching the Pacers, it’s no surprise they won the central region last season and will once again be one of the top teams in central Ohio this coming season.

A teammate with Sever on a Midwest Basketball Club squad that had a lot of success this spring and summer, Piatt-Brown is in a similar spot as he’ll be relied upon to make shots on one of the most talented teams in central Ohio. With

getting a lot of defensive attention, it opens up space for shooters like Piatt-Brown to get hot from the outside and I expect some games where he shoots the Pacers to victory. Continuing to develop physically and being able to attack a closeout will be the next steps to his game, but his size and shooting ability already makes him a small college target.

Another Pacer makes this list as Piatt-Brown was on fire from long range in this one. Not sure what else Piatt-Brown does right now but his shooting ability was incredibly value in the victory and he has the size to expand his game with his ball handling and physical development. Look for Delaware Hayes to maybe surprise some people in the OCC this season.
