Higdon has good size and plays with a high basketball IQ, understanding how to create advantages in the half court. He uses strong footwork to establish position and score effectively on the block. He has the ability to make open jump shots out to the three point line. His combination of skill, feel, and production makes him a reliable centerpiece for the offense.

He holds his own in the paint as a bruising interior scorer but also has the foot speed to stay in front of perimeter threats defensively. Higdon stretches the floor with his three-point range, adding value as a pick-and-pop option. His inside-out skill set and physicality make him a tough matchup at both ends.
