About Camden
Expert Analysis
Tyler Johnson | Prep Hoops Scout
After missing this entire past season due to pneumonia and losing 22 pounds from it, Cam was excellent in this Pangos camp and made it into the top 60 game. He was efficient with his shot attempts and playmaking, keeping everything balanced while taking great care of the ball. He was tremendous on the glass, even securing the game winning rebound in the final game of the weekend. There is a lot to like about Cam’s game and it’s great to see him back on the floor putting his versatility on full display.

McKinney possesses the necessary tools to be a next level prospect. He’ll have to lock in and sharpen things up a bit. Good size body, can move. He shoots the ball mid-range with or without a dribble, his range goes out to the 3-point line. He’s a good high post passer, cuts okay. He has the body to score on the low block. He can defend and rebound. Recently picked up a DI offer

is one of the more versatile forwards in his class. At 6’7”, he handles the ball like a guard and he has the ability to consistently create offense for himself off the dribble. Whether it’s pulling up from midrange or facing up and attacking slower bigs on the perimeter, Camden has the skill and mindset to be a force offensively.
What really makes him valuable is his ability to guard 4 to 5 positions. He moves his feet well, uses his length to contest shots and can switch onto perimeter players without missing a beat.
McKinney is a hybrid forward, very skilled and a matchup problem.

He has good size, and strength. He has some tools to work with. He moves well, can work from different spots, high, and low post. He’s a good passer. He squares up right for mid-range jumpers, can spot up for 3’s from the top and corners. He used a dribble or two to get to the basket. He looks best using his size and strength to score around the basket. He’ll help rebound, and defend in the paint. Good upside.
