Camari Stewart
About Camari
Expert Analysis
William Lloyd III | Prep Hoops Scout
Camari was a relentless offensive presence who consistently put pressure on defenses with his physicality and aggressiveness. He drew fouls at a high rate by attacking the paint and embracing contact, creating steady scoring opportunities throughout the playoffs. Camari proved he could score both inside and out, but was at his best when imposing his will in the paint. When the offense stalled, he took control by getting downhill and creating offense for himself. He also made a consistent impact on the glass, generating second-chance points through his effort and work for positioning. Camari helped lead his team to the State Semis and proved himself as a key offensive force.

Stewart is coming off a final four run in the Class 3A state tournament and an overall successful senior campaign after helping the Knights to a state title in 2024-25. The bullish 6-foot-5 hybrid forward took on more responsibility this season as a primary focus offensively and answered the call as one of the best public school prospects in Baltimore City. His positional versatility, physicality and skillset that still has some room to be expanded could benefit greatly at the JuCo level or post-grad prep level. The Knights produced with balance, but oftentimes it was Stewart leading way in the scoring column and on the glass. He makes a 5-spot leap from No. 67 to No. 62.

Camari flashed his pure bucket-getting ability during the entirety of the Expo. The smooth athletic forward is primed for his biggest season with City College as they look to compete for another state championship. Camari was electric at times with his scoring outbursts, having multiple stretches of baskets of any kind. Created space and open shots for himself with the most ease and consistency I’ve seen from him in a while. Interested to see how recruitment shapes up for the senior.

Stewart should be one of the better prospects in the city public school scene this season and a lot of it stems with his blend of size and athleticism. His skill set has improved over the last year as he’s become more confident operating off multiple dribbles when in attack mode, but throughout the Expo, the 6-foot-5 forward earned his keeps around the rim or in the paint with quick pull-ups. None were more loud than an attack on the baseline where he rose up with two hands and flushed a dunk with authority after beating the defender closing out. He’ll be a key staple for head coach Omar Smith and the Knights this season.

Camari has enjoyed playing with a bigger role after the departure of the team’s major D-1 prospect. He has put up a lot more shots and the team looks for him to score the ball at a higher level. Camari now has the space to stretch his game out to the perimeter and has taken advantage of the opportunity. Knocking down pull-up jumpers over contests with regularity now, and still maintains his slashing game. Gets to the cup and hits jumpers alike now and really poses a problem for his matchup.

countless times over this year, he never fails to impress with his motor and physically overwhelming nature. Few guys can match his strength, toughness, athleticism, and sheer level of competitiveness. Stewart is a versatile wing that can operate in a variety of different roles. He’s a great finisher and reliable midrange threat who plays well through contact on both ends of the floor. Stewart excels in transition, defends multiple positions, and rebounds (9 in the game). Plays bigger than his listed height. He should be a useful piece City College next year.

Camari showed me some special attributes in his game. He is always a plus to have out on the floor for City. A big that operates well in the paint but can also be effective from the wing. Camari makes some very good reads with the ball in his hands and makes most passes on time to his cutters and divers. I was impressed with his off-ball IQ both offensively and defensively, consistently puts himself into proper position. Goes up strong with the rock and finishes his layups with authority underneath. Has a smooth shot and will take the open shot on the perimeter, but still has work to do to become a consistent 3-level threat. Solid all-around big man that is very important to City College, even if it doesn’t show in the box score.
