About Calen

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I am a versatile guard who excels at both the point guard and shooting guard positions. Defensively, I am disciplined and vocal, consistently putting in the extra effort to contest shots, disrupt plays, and hustle for loose balls.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I show strong mental toughness, staying composed and focused in any situation. I handle pressure well, quickly move past mistakes, and make the right plays to support the team.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

When not on the court, I can be found on the track, where I participate in the pole vault. I also train several days a week at ETS Performance, a sports performance facility, continuing to build strength, speed, and overall athleticism.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

Through training and competition, I have built discipline, resilience, and a strong work ethic. In addition, my commitment to consistent training in both basketball and track has reinforced my dedication and time management, helping to balance multiple sports while continuing to improve.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

The biggest challenge is adjusting to different roles on my school team compared to AAU. Learning to switch between those roles has helped me become more adaptable and aware of what my team needs in the moment. Through those experiences, along with the ups and downs of competition, I have learned to stay composed, learn from mistakes, and consistently bring the right mindset to every game.

What type of college are you looking for?

I am looking for a college where I can continue to grow both academically and athletically. I am looking for a program that values hard work, teamwork, and player development, where I can contribute as a versatile guard and keep improving my skills.
