Caden is a patient player, letting the game come to him. He is sneaky athletic and does all the little things on the court. Heutink rebounds well for a guard, always crashing the boards. He has a smooth pull up jumper and showcased fantastic vision all day.

Caden’s game improved quite a bit over the summer, showing more calm and composure while handling the ball on the court. He knows how to attack opposing teams defensive weaknesses and has a deadly mid-range game. Heutink gets to the bucket with either hand effectively while having a solid shot from deep if left open.

Caden plays with phenomenal change of pace and sense to win on the court. He always played with high energy and effort, being the team leader for this Pioneers team. He has been getting a stronger core to absorb contact down low ad also a bigger. He doesn’t let anyone get in his head, always staying focused on the end goal for his team.

Heutink is a solid guard who can run the show, defend at a high level, and pick up buckets here and there. He plays with good balance, lives off of two feet, and is a pretty physical point guard. He can handle contact on drives, plays tough defense on the other end, and shows good burst across short areas which translates to success on both ends.

Caden was already the main scoring option for the Pioneers last year and coming this year, not much is likely to change. HE handles the ball and facilitates the offense to an elite level. His high basketball IQ is a big part of his success on the court but also his ability to forget about mistakes and being able to adjust those mistakes right on the fly. Heutink will look to get his teammates involved more this season but also make sure he gets his buckets, with his change of pace keeping defenders on their toes. He’ll be a top guard in the NWC next season.

Caden is a fantastic facilitator on the court. He has a high basketball IQ and knows what he needs to improve on after reviewing his film. He finds the weakspots in his game and puts in work to improve it. His ability to catch and shoot has evolved, as he uses his legs more to have a higher release point. He is strong with the ball, being able to protect the ball when defenders play close one on one defense. I think Caden will do great things for Nooksack Valley next season.

Caden was the primary ball handler and scoring option for Nooksack Valley last season and did a great job in that position. He found his teammates with ease and made his mid-range jump shot a lot more consistent. His ability to rise above defenders and release the ball at the highest point of his release allows him to get his shot off. He’s a great communicator on the court, verbally leading his teammates in the right direction. He is playing with Team360 this summer and will show even more growth.

The Nooksack Valley point guard was a true tone-setter in their victory over Mount Baker this past Saturday. He attacked with great balance, allowing strong takes in the paint and the ability to adjust under pressure and make the on target passes. He was a mainstay in the paint, working through the middle to draw multiple defenders and get high percentage looks for shooters. His ability to absorb contact near the hoop and finish through defenders put even more pressure on the defense to stop his drives which continued to open up passing lanes for him as the night went on. After avoiding elimination against Mount Baker, the Pioneers will now face Meridian in a loser-out/winner-to-state game this Friday at Lynden High School.

A familiar name at Nooksack Valley. He appears to be next up. He has a good mid-range game, displaying his pull-up jumper on a few occasions. He has decent length at 6’1 and a good floor game. His skill-set is there and should continue to get better. Nooksack had some talent last season and he should have a bigger role this year.

Caden is crafty with the ball and can handle the ball well. He is going to be the main ball handler next season so it will be interesting to see how he handles the more pressure. He can knock down outside shots and mid-range shots at a high level. He finds his open teammates when they get open and is excellent in the pick and roll game.
