Howard played with great shot selection finding high percentage looks and finishing open ones, making himself a slashing and catch-and-shoot threat within the offense. He was deadly anytime he got the ball on his left-side shooting pocket, flowing into a high, effortless release with natural elevation, allowing him to rise comfortably over contests without rushing. When a spark was needed Howard brought it, starting with his defense forcing turnovers and deflections, showing contagious energy and effort that translated into transition finishes and dunks to cap off the fastbreak.

Howard has built a reputation that ensures he’ll be at the top of every opponent’s scouting report. As a primary offensive threat, he’ll face aggressive coverages, traps, and physical defensive schemes. While his scoring production remains vital, postseason success will hinge on his willingness to rebound outside his position and finish possessions. Expanding his impact on the glass will help offset defensive attention and keep his team moving forward.

The second committed prospect in the top 10 of our rankings, Howard recently announced a commitment to Duke. I think he fits in perfectly with a Jon Scheyer coached team as Howard is a Swiss army knife from the wing as he excels as a versatile defender, cutter, rebounder and capable shot maker. I think Duke fans will love the toughness Howard brings as he plays like he’s still the unranked prospect he was less than 12 months ago. Incredible rise for Howard who has earned every offer and accolade he’s been given.
