A great glue guy, Darbyshire does a lot of things that don’t appear in the box score that impact winning. Darbyshire makes the extra pass, competes defensively, rebounds and gets after loose balls. In the box score this season he’s scoring 10.4 PPG and grabbing 5.8 RPG with a 2.9/2.4 A/TO ratio. Darbyshire is committed to Northern Kentucky University where he’ll look to bring his intangibles to one of the top programs in the horizon league.

Both Darbyshire and Austin Southerland Austin Southerland 6'1" | SG Sycamore | 2023 State OH made timely shots for the Aves but I decided to give the nod to Darbyshire for a spotlight after his sweet shooting game. Darbyshire is a winning high school basketball player, who can do a variety of things on the court. Excellent at making the extra pass, stepping in the passing lanes for deflections or getting a loose ball, a lot of things Dabryshire does leads to winning games. When he’s also knocking down shots from the outside, that just adds to the value he provides for his team.

Darbyshire showed some potential as a Sophomore but didn’t make his Junior season debut until January 14th last season and he never quite played to his full potential with Sycamore in 2021-22. This spring and summer he returned to the form I remembered and boosted his stock back up. With a strong senior season for Sycamore he could continue to climb back up the rankings and earn more college interest while helping his team compete for the GMC title.
